Weekly Weigh Day #8: More progress

July 8, 2011

Only a modest weight loss this week, but there is other good news!

-1 pound

It being the 8th week, I took my measurements this morning, and all of them except for my calves are down, so I’m a happy camper. I lost half an inch in my waist and a full inch from my hips. Most other measurements were down by a quarter inch, which is still something. It is good to see all that green on my progress chart.

It is frustrating to me that I can’t seem to trust my scale. I wish I still had the old-fashioned dial kind; for some reason it seemed more trustworthy, although I didn’t feel it was at the time. The scale at my local clinic always has better news for me than my own does, but as tempting as it is to simply use the lower of the two numbers, I know that I need to stick with one scale, whether it’s truly reliable or not, in order to get an accurate picture of what has changed.

Again, though, weight is not the best indicator of success anyway, so I will focus more on the measurements. Also, in two weeks I will try on these clothes for the first time in 10 weeks and see what progress I’ve made there.
